With phones and tablets, what is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty?
The following issues are generally not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty for phones and tablets:
User damage: This includes damage caused by improper use of the device, such as drops, impacts, cracked screens, or damage from improper charging.
Water damage: Damage caused by exposure to water or other liquids is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, unless the device is specifically water-resistant and used within the specified limits.
Normal wear and tear: The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover issues that arise from normal wear and tear, such as decreasing battery capacity, scratches on the screen, or worn-out buttons.
Software issues caused by third parties: Problems arising from the installation of unauthorized software, firmware, or from jailbreaking/rooting the device are not covered by the warranty.
Damage from unauthorized repairs: If the device has been opened or repaired by an unauthorized party, the manufacturer’s warranty is void. This also applies to damage caused by such repairs.
Aesthetic damage: Minor damage that affects the appearance of the device but not its functionality, such as discoloration or light scratches, is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
What happens if user damage is detected?
If the repair center detects user damage, you will receive a cost estimate for the repair. These costs will be your responsibility. If you choose not to have your product repaired, you can have the item returned to you. However, there will be inspection fees associated with this, ranging from €40 to €70. You also have the option to relinquish ownership of your product at no cost, in which case we will dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
