Eigenlijk voldeed mijn oude Galaxy S10e aan mijn gebruiksdoel, zelfs tot nu toe. Maar het ding is 5 jaar oud, in de electronica wereld oud, en het was al sinds een jaar niet meer geüpdate door Samsung. Onveilig, dus. Vandaar, met gemopper, een nieuwe besteld, de S24. Het moet voor mij persé klein en zakformaat zijn want het is handzaam om overal mee te nemen zonder zichtbaar te zijn. Ik heb het nu al ca. 1 week in huis en kan al concluderen dat deze S24 niet veel verschilt van de S10e. Qua werking direct ermee vertrouwd geraakt. Het totaal beeld is even levendig met normaler verzadigde kleuren dan de S10e. Het opladen gaat sneller dan bij de S10e en het batterijverbruik naar mijn mening ook zuiniger. Twee persoonlijke teleurstellingen omtrent de S24: geen SD kaart slot en geen 3.5mm plugaansluiting. Deze twee dingen zijn belangrijk voor mij. Ik vind dat naast bluetooth altijd een plugaansluiting moeten zijn. Nu met een omweg, via een adapter 3.5mm naar USB-C, kan ik dan alsnog mijn favoriete koptelefoon op het apparaat aansluiten, maar bij het telefoneren kan ik mijn gesprekspartner horen via de koptelefoon, andersom mijn stem is niet te horen voor de andere kant met de combi koptelefoon-adapter. Dit neem ik Samsung kwalijk. Hierdoor moet ik alsnog een bluetooth koptelefoon extra aanschaffen want ik heb het niet graag het (uiteindelijk warm geworden) toestel aan mijn oor geplakt bij het bellen met anderen. De hoofd camera is een verbetering ten opzichte van het oude toestel. Onderhuids technologie van deze S24 zou dan beter moeten zijn dankzij de hoogwaardige technologieën, AI incluis, maar voor mijn eenvoudig gebruik zal het niet zo gek veel uitmaken. In het kort kan ik samenvatten dat ik verder zou kunnen gaan met de oude vertrouwde S10e, maar de S24 voelt ook goed en direct vertrouwd aan. Verstandig van Samsung om geen al té grote verandering aan te brengen. Kwalijk is echter het strippen van de SD kaart slot en de 3.5mm plugaansluiting. Met de wetenschap dat de komende 7 jaar updates zullen worden geleverd voor dit toestel kan ik tenminste zo lang vooruitgaan met de gedachte niet weer binnenkort een nieuwe telefoon zal moeten aanschaffen terwijl de oude nog prima functioneert, zoals bij de S10e het geval is. Al met al, ondanks dat gemopper eerst, ben ik toch tevreden met de aanschaf van de S24 ondanks de gebreken. Toch een aanrader dit mooie product. Zeker met de aankoop bij zo'n webwinkel annex prijsvechter als Joeps.nl.
