Yes, the new iPhone 14 is out! As usual, the new line of iPhones came out in September, and this year there are plenty of changes from last year. Wondering what all you need to know about the latest generation of iPhones? Then read on quickly!
As we have come to expect from Apple, the new iPhone line was also presented in September this year. This year there are four brand new models: the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The first thing that stands out is that Apple has moved away from the mini model, which has given way to the new Plus model. Actually, Apple has done the reverse with this; moving from a smaller model to a larger one. Time to list all the news about the iPhone 14 models.
The 4 new iPhone 14 models
This year (as is usual lately) the iPhone lineup consists of 4 devices. Two of them carry the iPhone 14 name, the other two models have the Pro name. What is striking is that the iPhone 14 is relatively similar to the iPhone 13. In terms of design, there is little difference, aside from the fact that the 14's screen could be a lot brighter. The Pro models do have an updated design. For example, the screens have ProMotion and also have the "Always On" display. Also, the well-known notch is no longer present, but replaced by and Apple called "Dynamic Island." The sizes of the new models are as follows:

iPhone 14 Pro Max with a screen of 6.7" inches
Dynamic Island
No more notch for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but a new design with Dynamic Island! This looks like a pill-shaped, oval cutout that Apple cleverly runs its software on. Through the software, the Dynamic Island is used (or hidden) on things like Apple Maps or Apple Music, while notifications you receive also use the Dynamic Island. Notifications from your AirPods also conveniently play into this. With this, Apple really gives function to the new design.
New features for all iPhone 14 models
There are also other new features for all models. For example, all models also get a way to send emergency messages via satellite communication, which unfortunately is not an option for Europe at this time. In addition, the cameras have improved significantly. The front camera of the models are new with a 44mm sensor, making it the same size as the iPhone 13 Pro of the previous year. Also, the front camera now has autofocus. In addition, the Pro models feature a 48 megapixel camera with 71mm sensor and the ultra wide-angle camera has a 23mm sensor. That's twice the size of that of the iPhone 13 Pro models! All models also feature the so-called "Photonic Engine" which makes low-light photos look a lot better.
iPhone 14 processors
Notable this year is that the Pro models get a new chip, the standard 14 models have to make do with the same chip as last year. Thus, the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max have the new A16 Bionic chip, which is a lot faster. The 14 and 14 Plus again have the A15 Bionic chip, which incidentally has become a bit faster. The Pro models also got more working memory in addition which makes for a better experience.
Conclusion
All in all, we can see that the differences between the standard and Pro models are getting bigger and bigger, probably to enthuse people to buy a more expensive model anyway. In any case, we are very pleased with the new iPhone 14 lineup, especially the Pro models. The Dynamic Island is a fantastic addition and the new A16 chip is just really fast.
