New rumours about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5
Quite a few new rumours have again been thrown into the air about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. Especially now that the Samsung Galaxy S23 has been on the market for a while, it seems time to look at the next big Galaxy launch. In all likelihood, that will be the Fold 5 and Flip 5 expected sometime this autumn. This article lists all the rumours so far and which ones have been added recently!
Bigger cover screen
The first rumour is a considerably larger cover screen compared to the previous model, the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Competitors such as Motorola and Oppo already showed specimens with a considerably larger cover screen and now Samsung seems to want to go in that direction too so as not to be left behind. For instance, the screens of the Oppo Find N2 Flip and Motorola Razr 2022 have dimensions of between 3.26" and 2.7" inches. The current Samsung devices only have dimensions of 1.7" inches. It looks like the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is heading towards 3.4" inches. Quite a bit bigger, in other words.
Colours of the Z Flip 5
Another new rumour is about the future colours of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Currently, the Galaxy Flip 4 is available in Blue, Bora Purple, Pink Gold and lastly Graphite Black colours. According to the latest rumours, the Flip 5 is going to be available in Beige, Grey, Light Green and light Pink. It is not clear whether these colours will come on top of the "old" colours of the Flip 4 or just that these new colours will be available. It is somewhat reminiscent of the Galaxy S23's current colour offering, by the way.
New and improved cameras
A key rumour for many will of course be the hopefully upgraded cameras for the Flip 5. Traditionally, Flip devices have two cameras, which is likely to remain the case. It seems Samsung is also sticking to twice a 12-megapixel sensor. For the Flip 5, a dedicated zoom camera also remains out, for that you'll have to go buy the Fold 5. That one has slightly more extensive specs overall. However, the same camera specs don't tell the full story, as we don't yet know which sensors Samsung will use. This could make quite a difference in terms of camera work, so we will have to be patient for that. Indeed, it is possible that these will bring significant improvements that will make the photos you can take with the Flip 5 a lot better. Time will tell!
