Many announcements
The main announcements were mainly the Vision Pro and new Macbooks. There were also numerous new features announced in iOS 17, from diary apps to a new interesting standby mode. It also looks like Apple will be taking a new direction for the Apple Watches with watchOS 10. Apple TV will also get video calling functionality and a remote control search feature. MacOS Sonoma also gets new iOS features and a new 15-inch MacBook Air is coming plus upgrades for Mac Studio and Mac Pro.
Vision Pro
After years of rumours and anticipation, Apple's long-awaited glasses are finally going to become a reality. Six years ago, CEO Tim Cook already called augmented reality as important as the smartphone. Meanwhile, competitor Meta has already taken the plunge by announcing their latest VR glasses last week: the Meta Quest 3, which seems to be a reaction to the upcoming Apple glasses. While the Meta Quest 3 is relatively affordable with a $500 price tag, the first Apple Vision Pro makes a statement with its $3499 price.
Revolutionary Mixed Reality glasses
The Vision Pro is a groundbreaking pair of Mixed Reality glasses equipped with an array of cameras and a front display that allows the user's eyes to be seen. A convenient wheel, similar to that of the Apple Watch, is located on the glasses. The glasses' controls are based on eye movements, allowing users to easily select what they want. The convenient controls allow users to effortlessly navigate and select what they want to do or experience. The glasses' interface seems to "float" in the air, like a virtual presence in the room. Imagine looking at an object and, with a simple turn of the wheel, darken the environment around you, completely immersing you in, say, an immersive movie experience. That's what you can do with the Vision Pro.
Vision Pro features
The Vision Pro allows all kinds of apps to be placed in the virtual environment, with everything being customisable and three-dimensional. Windows appear to float, allowing users to effortlessly drag and drop documents from one window to another. They can even place documents on the table in front of them and explore them in full 3D. Users can enjoy movies and series on a virtual screen that resembles a cinema screen, while feeling surrounded by a virtual environment such as a cinema auditorium or a lunar landscape. You can also watch movies and series in 3D. In addition, users can play Apple Arcade games on the virtual TV screen by connecting a controller to the glasses. The Apple Vision Pro has integrated speakers that send sound directly to the ears. Users also have the option of using earbuds or headphones. With an external battery, the glasses can be used for up to two hours, and they can be easily attached with a magnetic cord. In addition, the glasses offer advanced security with an iris scanner, similar to the fingerprint scanner or face scanner of Macs and iPhones.
